The name Alyson Stoner might not be familiar to everyone, but if you've seen music videos by hip hop heavyweights Eminem (“Just Lose It”) and Missy Elliott (“Work It”, “Pass That Dutch”, “Gossip Folks” and “I'm really Hot”), you will have seen impressively her shaking her stuff.
On the back of her appearances in these top and innovative music videos, Alyson has performed at the 2003 American Music Awards, on “The Jay Leno Show”, and on MTV's “Fashionably Loud”. She has also been a backing dancer for Will Smith and OutKast at awards ceremonies.
Having studied ballet, tap and jazz at the O’Connell’s Dance Studio in her hometown of Ohio, and being trained in hip hop dance by top choreographers Fatima (who's worked with the likes of Aaliyah, Myaand Brandy, Wade Thomas and Hi Hat, when she relocated to Los Angeles, it's no surprise that Alyson, who was a member of the dance group the JammXKids – which encourages young people to keep active and healthy - is such as talented and in-demand dancer.
But Alyson's abilities aren't just limited to dance, she's also an actress and has also featured in the “Cheaper By The Dozen” family comedy movie and its sequel as Sarah Baker – a mastermind who thinks up hilarious pranks and practical jokes, like soaking Ashton Kutcher's pants in meat - one of Steve Martinand Bonnie Hunt's 12 kids (along with top teen actress Hilary Duff who she says was like her big sister). She won a Young Artist Award for Best Young Ensemble In A Feature Film, which she shared with the rest of the movie's cast, in 2004. Plus at the same awards, was nominated for Best Performance In A Feature Film – Young Actress Age Ten or Younger for her role.
She's appeared in episodes of the Disney Channel shows “The Sweet Life of Zack and Cody” (which also stars Brenda Song and in “That's So Raven” (with Raven-Symone). Alyson has also starred in two Disney TV pilots; "Big House" and "What Leonard Comes Home To”. Plus she's honed her skills with appearances in many commercials (including promoting McDonald's and Mattel products), voice-overs and theater shows. She's won over many fans with her dance and acting work, so much so that a petition has even been set-up to campaign to get Alyson a major role in a TV show. It currently has almost 2000 signatures. In the future, the brunette performer ,who is usually seen with her hair tied-up in pigtails, hopes to continue both acting and dancing.
Off-screen, the young starlet has two older sisters named Correy and Jaimee. She loves sports; she plays basketball and soccer with her friends on school teams, and enjoys softball, volleyball, golf and gymnastics. When's she's not working, she also fills her spare time with playing the keyboard and writing her own songs, spending time with her family, watching and choreographing new dances.
